Ever since we saw the ingredients profile, we’ve been dying to write a Pre Jym Review so we picked up a tub and hit the gym

Pre-workout supplements help maximise your workouts by helping you focus, boosting your energy, improving strength and accelerating muscle repair.

We’d consider Pre Jym to be a pre workout for gym goers who have been using pre workout supplements for a while. When picking a pre workout, you need to be aware of your tolerances to the ingredients whilst also considering what you want to get out of your workout.

Another thing to look for are proprietary blends, we tend to avoid these as you’re not sure exactly what you’re getting – the good thing is, Pre Jym lists every ingredient and dosage clearly.

Without further a do, lets look at when benefits you can expect to feel, the ingredients and our personal experience using this product.

Benefits of Pre Jym Pre workout

Pre Jym aims to fulfil all your pre workout needs in one tub, rather than buying numerous ingredients separately and it comes pretty close to nailing it.

Key Pre Jym benefits:

  • Enhanced energy
  • Improved focus
  • Extended stamina
  • Impressive muscle pumps

Enhanced energy

When it comes to energy, Pre Jym packs a punch with a whopping 300mg of Caffeine Anhydrous included. Compared to BULK which has 180mg, you can tell this will definitely see you through the toughest of workouts.

Improved focus

Energy is great but if you can’t focus that energy, you won’t get anything out of your workouts. You should feel calm which allows for greater mental focus and endurance.

Extended stamina

Enhanced endurance should allow for increases in overall workout volume. which means if you can do more, you may gain more.

There are numerous endurance boosting ingredients in Pre Jym but even Caffeine alone has been proven to improve stamina.

Impressive muscle pumps

When it comes to pre workouts, one word that pops up often is the “pump”. After all, what’s the point in lifting weights if we aren’t going to look any bigger?!

Pre Jym Review

Is Pre Jym safe?

Due to the high caffeine content of Pre Jym, we’d advise testing your tolerance with a half scoop first. An adult should have no more than 400mg in a day and there’s 300mg alone in Pre Jym.

One bonus when compared to Transparent Labs BULK, which contains Synephrine, there are no ingredients to worry about here

As we mentioned in the intro, Jym Science are completely transparent with their product. This means there are no hidden fillers/ingredients and you know exactly how much of each ingredient you’re getting.

Pre Jym ingredients

Pre Jym aims to be an all rounder and with over 14 ingredients packed in to the tub, you definitely get some bang for your buck.

The majority of the ingredients are clinically dosed but one or two are just shy of where they need to be but depending on your workout goals, that may not matter to you.

You’ve probably read enough about pre workouts to know that a lot of them contain similar ingredients but some companies criminally under-dose some of the ingredients to cut costs.

Ingredients like Caffeine, Beta-Alanine, Citruline-Malate and BioPerine are quite common due to their proven effectiveness. Unfortunately the Beta-Alanine is under-dosed here at 2g as 3.2g has been clinically proven to be effective. Beta-Alanine is the ingredient that can give you the dreaded “itch” so if that’s something you’re not a fan of, the 2g in here shouldn’t bother you.

One thing that drew us to Pre Jym, as well as the caffeine dosage, was the fact it includes BCAAs. Normally you’ll need to stack a BCAA supplement if you want to bulk up so we were excited when we saw that it was included. BCAAs reduce muscle fatigue & soreness and combined with Taurine they reduce the soreness you sometimes feel the next day.

We like the addition of L-Tyrosine, Betaine and Choline and if you don’t get enough pump from the 6g of Citrulline-Malate, there’s 500mg of Beet Root Extract to boost blood flow as well.

Finally we have Creatine, there are contradicting reports questioning if Caffeine and Creatine can work synergistically but at 2g, the Creatine is heavily underused anyway.

We’ve tested this product over multiple weeks and we can’t write a Pre Jym review without covering what effects the ingredients had on us. As we mentioned, the Beta-Alanine is underused so you shouldn’t get the itchy face feeling but the biggest surprise was there was no crash despite the high caffeine content.

We were worried about a lack of L-Theanine but we tested Pre Jym at 6am, lunchtime and 6pm and didn’t feel any sort of crash and it didn’t affect our sleep. The pumps were good and we smashed out 2 hour workouts without a problem.

How to take it

Most pre workouts you can just throw together and take 20-30 minutes before your workout but Pre Jym is a little different…Jym Science suggest that you allow the ore workout to mix for 10 minutes, you drink it over a 20 minute period and allow 30-45 minutes for it to take effect.

Following manufacturer suggestions should allow for correct, planned supplementation. Given the high Caffeine content in Pre Jym we advise that you never heap or double scoop it.

To get the most out of the Pre Jym we suggest:

  • Mix one level scoops of BULK formula in 400ml of water
  • Allow 10 minutes for it to mix
  • Take around 20 minutes to drink it
  • Wait 30 minutes before starting your workout

Whilst it didn’t affect our sleep patterns when we took it in the evening, everyone is different so it may affect you.

How much does it cost?

A complete container of Pre Jym contains 30 servings, with each serving coming in at a whopping 26g!

At $38 we don’t think that’s bad value but keep an eye out as you can sometimes get 20% off when you buy a second tub!

For those of you who like to mix it up, you can order different flavours rather than being stuck with three bags of the same flavour. We tried the Orange Mango flavour and it’s the best tasting pre workout we’ve had – not too sweet and mixes very well.

Pre Jym Review conclusion

Pre Jym is a very good pre workout and we’ll definitely be buying it again in the future. The label lived up to it’s name and we felt every benefit that this product claims to offer.

It got us through morning workouts & evening workouts and didn’t make us crash or keep us up all night. We stayed focussed and saw clear progression in both muscle mass and strength.

At $49 a tub it’s towards the top of the price bracket but when you get 30 servings and it has everything you need, we can’t really complain.

Normally taste doesn’t matter too much when you chug a pre workout, you’ll struggle to find a better tasting pre workout than Pre Jym. Whilst it doesn’t look like it mixes well, it’s smooth, not chalky and isn’t too sweet.

We’re big fans of this product and it will be moving up our best pre workout supplements list soon!

Pros:

  • Great pumps
  • Fuelled 2 hour workouts
  • High stimulant dosage
  • Reduces muscle soreness
  • Includes BCAAs
  • Elevates mood and motivation
  • No proprietary blends

Cons:

  • Beta-Alanine under-dosed
  • Premium price for a premium product
  • No permanent multi-buy option
